Candlelight Productions and Servants Community Housing proudly present…

VOICES: The Carrical Project, a collection of true stories exploring the tragic loss and debilitating stigma of mental illness and the creativity, character and hope that can spring out of it.

Based on true stories, VOICES is a theatre production about men with mental illness living in a rooming house in Hawthorn. The first season was so well received by the audience and industry that we are bringing it back for a second season in September 2011!

+SQUEAKY CLEAN COMEDY+ 2011...Melbourne Votes Yes!

People of Melbourne, you’ve proved that there’s a huge demand for clean comedy.  Over 1800 of us doubled up and belly-laughed our way through Candlelight Productions' hit season of +SQUEAKY CLEAN COMEDY+.

Run over three weeks - Friday 8th and 15th and Saturday 23rd April - at the Melbourne Conference Centre, it was a night of sparkling wit for everyone (adults and families alike), without the need for the grimy stuff.

International stand-up whiz Dave Wiggins (USA/NZ) and nine of Australia’s best comedians fired out the gags as we rolled about in our seats.

The Aussie contingent included: Michael Connell, Jason Pestell, Mike Klimczak, Lach Ryan, Phil Andrews, Cam Semmens, Michael Tancredi, Beau Steggman and Luke Holt.

+SQUEAKY CLEAN COMEDY+ was possibly the only overtly clean comedy show in the festival aimed at adults (from over 300 shows). Thanks for your support and a big thankyou to all of the volunteers who made this amazing season possible.

Here's some of your feedback...

“Hilarious night... Cannot wait to bring more friends next year.”

“Love the show! ...My sides are sore and eyes weeping – you cracked me up!”

“Thank you – I brought my 17 year old granddaughter and we could both enjoy this together on our ‘night on the town’. Next year please.”

Meanwhile, we're already planning for next year's Comedy Festival. If you would like to be involved or know of someone who you think would be great on stage, now is the time to let us know! In particular, we welcome applications from females - we'd love to support you in the great work you do!
