Super Comedian saves you from boredom!

Bam! Pow! Wham! Comedian Michael Connell is saving the citizens of Melbourne from boredom by staging a comedy show. Inspired by a love of comic books, the show is titled I am Super, Man and is being performed as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival. “The show asks why we’re happy to settle for average,” explains Michael. “Why do we shlub through life, rather than do our best? Why is the world full of Clark Kents instead of Supermen? Plus there’s jokes about superheroes because I’m a big nerd.” Being a clean comedy show, Michael will use wits faster than a speeding bullet and punch lines more powerful than a locomotive to deliver jokes without the cringe factor. “I try not to go for easy laughs” says Michael, “it’s part of my never ending battle for truth, justice, and more intelligent comedy.” “I’ve performed in Fringe Festival many times before with great success,” says Michael, “plus the festival has always been very supportive.” Last year, this support extended to selecting Michael to be part of the festival’s Outside Eye artist development program. Barring any kryptonite related accidents, the show looks set to be a big success. Only one question remains, when Michael performs will he wear his undies on the outside? |
