Candlelight Productions was proud to join with Christian Artists Factory in hosting
IGNITION Creative Artists' Gathering 7 - 10 April 2005
IGNITION was a four day gathering for creative people from around Australia. It was held at The Image Factory @ Stonnington Recreation Centre and was an opportunity for people who have a creative streak in them to:
- link up with like-hearted people in a safe place,
- express themselves using whatever art form they were most comfortable with,
- be fed spiritually & physically!,
- be encouraged, and
- be inspired to head out again (hopefully better-connected and refreshed) to serve in their own communities.
It was designed to gather together and inspire, encourage, heal and move forward into our communities with a stronger sense of community, purpose, and passion.
IGNITION was a call to creative people to deepen their relationship with God and link together in unity to engage and serve the Australian community in a contemporary and relevant manner.
Workshops and seminars were led by an amazing array of teachers and practitioners from some of Australia's leading and emergent colleges and arts groups, including:
Simon Camelleri (Backyard Bard)
Hannah Cooper (Wesley Institute)
Steve Cooper (Professional songwriter/musician)
Jan Craik (ACMS, Pioneer in Art development in Australia)
Stu Davey (Stone Soup Community)
Martin Fawkes (Light FM, Founder of ACAN)
Steve Hilaire (Hilairious Productions)
Dee Kaylock (Christian Artists Factory, Black Stump)
Colette Maclaren (Water Carriers Dance Theatre)
Sue Marks (Christian Visual Arts Network)
Jamie Pryor (Unity College Australia)
Cameron Semmens (Poet)
Fraser Tustian (Writer. Performer. Comedian. Geek.)
Grant Wildman (Tabor College Adelaide)
Eugene Wong (Candlelight Productions)
Sue Rinaldi (from the UK) also joined the team of facilitators and musicians from Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Queensland to provide music for us each day.
If you missed it... ouch.
Here are snippets of the written responses from the delegates...
"I leave here so much better in so many ways. I feel so encouraged, affirmed, healed and fed in many ways and in many levels."
"I have not really had a true family life, but over the two and a half days I have felt and enjoyed an incredible sense of family and acceptance, which touched my heart so deeply and moved me to tears..."
"I experienced the sense in the deepest recesses of my being that this is what I was made for. Finally life seemed rich!"
"This experience has changed me forever and in many ways I probably won't experience for a long time. I feel so washed clean, healed, inspired..."
"It has been a powerful weekend"
"I have been encouraged in my calling to start an artists colony..."
"All this is much more than I could ask for and I want to thank you for your faithfulness in putting this on."
"Thank you so much for the opportunity... I want to share this experience with others!"
"From the start of the opening words by Eugene I felt the security of being with kindred spirits. We feel so alone sometimes so out of the main flow of things, going our own way, or trying to get back into the main stream. But at Ignition I was in the main stream."
"I am not an artist. I am salt to pepper in contrast. Yet... at no time did I feel out of place. Thank you."
"This community has given me a fresh sense of belonging."
"Thank you so very very much for Ignition - for the space, space to learn, grow, play, explore, connect and just to be... would dearly love to see more gatherings like this."
"All we can say is THANKYOU. Your generosity on every level - warmth & love, human organisation, vision, planning, releasing, feeding (both literally & metaphorically), equipping, and prayer - has us leaving so full!"
"I would like to help at the next one!"
"...a wonderful time" |
